In case you haven’t received the memo yet, the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards are officially on!
We
are totally excited for all the glamour, the excitement and the
anticipation as we gear up for the biggest fashion event of the year.
In
preparation for the fashion celebration, the Abryanz Style and Fashion
Awards organizing committee has released the official category list for
the Awards that are scheduled to take place on 9th December, 2016.
There
are definitely a lot of changes, as you will notice. Aside from going
continental, the search for the fashion talent on the globe has been
stretched to as far as central, and Southern Africa.
Some
of the categories did stick to the Ugandan audience, while others will
be competed for on a regional level and others on a continental level.
The
Abryanz Franchise CEO, Ahumuza Brian explains that the reason for the
expansion was due to the demand from the other parts of Africa. Below is
his statement.
After
the success of ASFA2015, we realized this is what Africa wanted. We
felt there were so many people on the continent that didn’t get rewarded
for their efforts. We constantly got emails from other individuals from
other parts of Africa. We could have come up with more categories, but
it’s hard to manage them if they are many.
We
want to grow the brand to a continental franchise, and you can’t do
that by restricting it to the East Africa only. We also want to export
to the rest of the world what Uganda and Africa at large has to offer in
regards to fashion and style.
