Drey Beatz, whose real name is Daniel Grey Leonge was born on July 27th in Delta State, Nigeria. Born in the oil city of Warri, Drey is the only son of the legendary southern musician, Emma Grey. Drey Beatz grew up listening to music by his father, Fela Kuti,Sir Victor Uwaifo, Chief Osita Osadebe, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Rodney Jerkins, Timothy Mosley and Kasseem Dean. After years of honing different musical skills – singing, writing, playing different musical instruments, and singing – Drey officially kicked off his production outfit, which he called Drey Beatz.
