The 2011 Music Of Black Origin Award Ceremony, popularly known as “MOBO Award“, was just concluded in Glasgow, Scotland and our very own Wizkid Ayo Balogun scooped the “Best African Act” gong ahead of the likes of Seun Kuti, D’Banj and South Africa’s Liquideep.
In doing so, Wizkid becomes the youngest artiste to ever claim this huge award. He joins the likes of 2face Idibia (2007 ), 9ice (2008) and Nneka (2009) in the record books as past winners. Congratulations to “Star Boy” Wizzy, the whole EME crew and Nigerian music as a whole. With 4 of the past 5 winners coming from Nigeria, it shows we’re firmly on top of Africa. Long may it continue
