In the exclusive interview, Samklef is quoted as saying
“I’m not happy with Wizkid. I like his music, but I don’t like him as a person anymore. The reason I don’t like him anymore is, why do you go about spoiling other people’s business? I never spoiled your business, never came out to say anything bad about you for four years. So why would you go to an OAP and tell the OAP that the reason why you no longer work with me is because my beat is amateur. What does that mean? Those amateur beats was what brought you to limelight, was what made you meet the same Akon who first dropped ‘Don’t Dull’ on your voice.”

The two worked very well together in their earlier years when Samklef produced WizKid’s hit singles Don’t Dull, Tease Me, Pakurumo, as well as 4 other singles on Wizkid’s debut album Superstar. In addition to that WizKid was also featured on Samklef’s hit single, Molowo Noni. While WizKid’s career has taken off to unimagined levels, Samklef’s recent track record hasn’t been so great.
This isn’t the first time someone has said something about WizKid losing old friends, as Davido had hinted to that against Wizkid earlier in the year, and rumors surrounding his split from Manager Godwin Tom have it that he’s lost most of his ‘day 1 homies’.
Whatever the case is, you never want to see beef among old friends, and we hope the WizKid and Samklef patch things up sooner rather than later.
